How Wordul works
It's Wordle, but everyone in the room is sweating the same secret word at the same time — and every green you uncover rains gold. Here's the whole game in two minutes. (Watch it play. Yes, it's really running.)
1. The basics
Guess the hidden word in 6 tries. Words run from 4 to 12 letters (set per room). After each guess, every tile tells you something:
- A Green — right letter, right spot.
- B Yellow — right letter, wrong spot.
- C Gray — not in the word (tap a tile to flip it).
A guess has to be a real word or it bounces back — and a bounce costs you no guess.
2. It's a race 🏁
Everyone in a room solves the same secret word at the same time. You watch opponents' rows fill in live — their colors, never their letters. First to solve wins the round, but the race doesn't stop there: everyone keeps playing to finish and bank their own gold.
3. Gold — the universal score 🪙
Gold is how everyone is scored. You earn it for progress and lose a little for sloppiness.
Earn
- Each new 🟩 green — +100
- Each new 🟨 yellow — +50
- Solving the word — +500
- Speed bonus — +300 × guesses left
Uncover several letters in one guess and a combo multiplier stacks: 2→×1.5, 3→×2, up to 5→×3.
Lose
- Submitting a non-word — −50
- Reusing a known-dead letter — −50 each (capped −200/guess)
Repeat the same mistake and it escalates. Gold can go negative — and in Hard Mode, sinking past −300 ends the game in an explosion. 💥
4. Power-ups ✨
The ✨ icon shows up the moment you can afford something. Spending is a real trade-off — gold is precious.
- Reveal a letter — uncovers one unknown letter. Costs 4000. A splurge.
- Count the vowels — tells you how many vowels are in the word. Costs 200. A cheap nudge.
- Give up — surfaces when you're stuck. Forfeits with the full explosion, in any mode.
5. Editions 🎨
Reskin the whole game. Wordul (default), Editorial, Yang's Table (with a cloned-voice companion who reacts as you play), Tactile, Arcade, and Jackpot. Editions are pure vibe — the rules hold across all of them. Pick one in the lobby or in Settings.
6. Where this is going 🚀
Here's the honest pitch: we think the way games exist is about to change. Wordul isn't just a word game — it's becoming a place where players build their own editions and extensions inside the game itself. New rules, new vibes, new modes, made by you, played by everyone.

How is Wordul different from regular Wordle?

Do I need an account?
No password, no signup. Pick a username and you're recognized anywhere just by typing it again. You get a public profile at /@you.
How do I invite friends?
Create a room and share its link (wordul.com/@you/friday-night). Anyone who opens it picks a username and joins the same race.
What word lengths can I play?
Anywhere from 4 to 12 letters — the room owner sets it.
